White Water Rafting in Tennessee
The Olympic white water competitions held on the Ocoee River in 1996 brought international notoriety to Tennessee's white water rivers. However, Tennessee had a reputation for superb white water long before the Olympics. Many of the state's rivers flow over the Tennessee/North Carolina border near Great Smoky Mountains National Park and even through the mountain range itself. Some rivers, like the Pigeon, offer playful Class III runs while others drop through deep canyons, rattling down rapid-strewn gorges.

Wildwater Limited Tennessee White Water Rafting
Wildwater Limited has been a white water rafting outfitter for more than thirty years. They run half-day trips on the Ocoee and Pigeon Rivers in Tennessee and also run trips on rivers in bordering states. They can accommodate children as young as eight years old on the Pigeon River and twelve year-olds on the Ocoee River. On the lower section of the Pigeon they also offer a self-guide option, allowing guests to captain their own raft down the river with slight assistance from Wildwater guides in nearby rafts. Wildwater offers several lodging options near many of the river they run, including rooms in their own Chauga River House Bed & Breakfast. Discounted rafting/accommodation package trips are available as well as discounted trips for students on a tight budget.

One guest had this to say about their Wildwater guide:

"...your people went out of the way to make our white water rafting experience the best it could be.”
- Dayton Christian School
